A Killer Book Trailer

These upcoming days you'll be creating book trailers of the books that you have read before.

☝️ What's a book trailer?

A book trailer is a short video advertisement for a book which uses techniques similar to those used in a film trailer. A book trailer’s main goal is to promote a book and make readers to read it. It uses images, video, music, narration ,text,...

⏳ How long should it be?

It has to be less than 2 minute long.

📆 What's my deadline?

AFTER THE EASTER BREAK

👀 Can I see some samples of Book Trailers?

Absolutely, let's see some book trailers, one is professionally made and the other is student-made.

🤔 How do I  create a killer book trailer?

⓵ Write a script with the main characters and plot.
Start strong to grab people's attention.
If you use a camera or phone, keep it steady.
Simple ideas are sometimes the best.
Don't just summarise the book and dont' spoil the ending.
       Choose music carefully.

🔧 What should I do?

Read the guidelines below

➊  Complete the BOOK REVIEW TEMPLATE to flesh out the book. This is the basis for your
scrip and storyboard. ( Click on the link to download the file)

➋  Next fill in the STORYBOARD TEMPLATE. Plan at least one image per sentence. To make
    it interesting you should include:
  •  An interesting hook.
  •  A vivid description of an event that supports the theme.
  •  The title and name of the author at the conclusion.
  •  A call to action.
  •  Hit HERE to see an example of a very simple storyboard.

➌ Then, use POWTOON to create your Book Trailer. To use POWTOON you should
Sign up Free FIRST. For a Powtoon Tutorial click HERE.

Finally, post to your blog!!! Post the Book review and the storyboard as well!
